Sulphur River Kennels (SRK) History represents a brief history of the success we have had over 20 years of serious competition.

Robbin’s Red Ruby, M.H.-M.N.H., has been a Finalist in the AKC Master National 4 consecutive years. Only 5 years old, she is on track to break the record for most consecutive Nationals finished as well as the record for most total passes at the National. Owned by Chris and Jennifer Robbins of Trophy Club, TX, Ruby was the youngest finalist in 2004 at barely 2 years of age and made the Master Natl. Hall of Fame at only 4 years old. Her daughter, Kosmic Kate, was the youngest finalist in 2007.

In ’03, Sugar ran a near-perfect event in Thomasville, GA, never handling on a mark during the entire week. Sugar hunts almost every day of the season with owner Jack O’Connor at his Arkansas duck camp.

Nick’s Chocolate Rose, M.H.-M.N.H, owned by Jim and Becky Mackey of Longview, TX, finished her third Master National in Remington, VA and thereby made the Hall of Fame. She is the only Chocolate female in the Hall, which contains just over 100 dogs to date.

Rebel’s Best Son, M.H., attained his Master National Hunter title at the 2007 AKC Master National in Remington, VA. Sonny was sired by FC-AFC Rebel With A Cause, one of the top producing yellow studs in history. He is owned by Glenn Coterill.

Sonny is available at stud to approved bitches.

Trumarc's Hot Streak MH., Q.A.A.

Trumarc's Hot Streak, M.H., Q.A.A., was the benchmark of what we strive to achieve in our breeding and training program.

In addition to being a highly skilled hunting dog, Streak was one of the youngest dogs ever to pass an AKC Master Hunter event (14 months of age) and was also one of the youngest ever to qualify for the Master National.

After attaining her Master Hunter title, Streak went on to Field Trial competition, winning 1st place in Derby stakes at Memphis and San Antonio. She finished her Derby career with 16 points, and soon after became Qualified All-Age.

After being awarded her first ribbon in the Open All-Age stake, Streak suffered a career-ending leg injury, but continued to hunt doves, ducks, and geese extensively. She was also a 24/7 house dog and family companion.

Calm, friendly, and obedient in the house and duck blind, Streak was a dynamo in the field, proving you can have it both ways.

This photo of Streak, taken by Dallas Morning News Outdoor Editor Ray Sasser, can also be found in Ray's Book "Texas Seasons".

FC AFC Rebel With A Cause

FC-AFC Rebel With A Cause, shown after Steve handled him to 1st place in the Open All-Age. Rebel is one of the top yellow sires in the U.S.

"We cannot thank you enough for everything you did for Rebel. You took a common yellow puppy and turned him into an Open Winner. You also taught him manners and turned him into a world class housedog. He was retired at 7 due to a biceps tendon tear, but had a wonderful retirement as a pet. Of the 30 labs I have raised or owned since 1987, he was my favorite; not only in the field but also at home. I appreciate everything you did to make that happen; none of this would have been if it wasn't for you.

Thank you again for everything you did for him. I know he loved you very much."

Sincerely, Ernie and Tina
